One of the must visit family-friendly spots on a visit to Stanford is the Klein Rivier Cheese Farm.
All year round you can order picnics, artisanal cheese platters and kiddies picnic baskets. and spread out over the large grassed area for a lovely lunch while your kids enjoy the neighbouring playground or petting the farm animals. No pre-booking is needed and you can simply rock up and enjoy a slice of farm life!
Our kids were able to enjoy feeding the farm animals and playing in the play area while we browsed & tasted the cheese at the cheese deli and picnic shed and then settled in to a relaxing afternoon enjoying the sunshine on our backs and the view of the hills surrounding Stanford. For a little while we were pretty much in heaven – peace, quiet, green hills, sunshine, happy kids, cheese and views for days!
Klein River Cheese is located just 7km outside Stanford, along Route 326, in the heart of the fertile Klein River valley in the Overberg region of the Western Cape in South Africa.
